About this campaign
Before the war, Baker’s family lived a prosperous and secure life. Their family home was worth around $10 million—a place built on comfort, stability, and generations of hard work. In an instant, bombardment reduced that sanctuary to dust and rubble, leaving Baker and his family homeless, penniless, and fighting for daily survival.
The economic conditions on the ground in Gaza have reached a breaking point. With the UN reporting basic-goods inflation soaring around 204% above pre-war figures, basic necessities have become virtually unattainable. Even a modest 25kg bag of flour has skyrocketed to roughly $21–$25, turning the simple act of securing daily bread and clean drinking water into an exhausting struggle.
On top of this daily survival crisis lies an urgent, sight-threatening medical emergency. Baker requires specialized eye treatment and surgery that cannot be performed inside Gaza. However, medical coordination and border evacuation fees currently cost approximately $30,000 per person. For Baker, his father, and his mother to cross safely, the cost stands at roughly $90,000—before surgical and hospital expenses even begin.
Despite the devastation, Baker refuses to think only of himself. He is deeply committed to ensuring this campaign extends relief to those suffering alongside him: families surviving under tattered plastic sheeting, bedridden patients, helpless elders, orphans, and widows. Together with their own profound grief from losing relatives, close friends, and neighbours buried beneath the ruins, Baker believes true kindness means lifting others up even in the darkest hour.
“Before the war, my family was wealthy and our home was worth around $10 million. Today, we are homeless, poor, and struggling to find enough food and water for each day. We have lost people we loved buried beneath the rubble, and our psychological suffering has become almost unbearable. I’m not asking you to save only me. I want to help displaced people around us—orphans, widows, elderly, and patients. I believe true kindness begins by helping others too.”
