About this campaign
My name is Mahmoud, a software engineer from Gaza. Since 2016, I have worked hard in tech to build a future for my family. My wife and I were raising our two-year-old daughter in a home we built with love, hope and sacrifice. In October 2023, everything changed. A missile strike destroyed our home in seconds, taking not only the place we lived but also my mother, my heart and greatest supporter.
All of my work equipment, including my laptop, was destroyed, and my wife lost her job when hospitals were bombed. Today, we are displaced and living in a tent with no safety, no electricity and no clean water. Winter freezes us, summer burns us, and rain floods the ground where we sleep.
We queue for bread and search desperately for baby milk. Our daughter cries at night, terrified by drones and explosions. She does not understand war—only fear. We have lost everything we depended on, and each day is a struggle to survive.
I want to work again. I want to stand on my feet and rebuild our lives, but I cannot do it alone. With support, we can secure a safer place to live, buy food and clean water for our little girl, cover basic medical needs, and replace my work equipment—especially a laptop—so I can return to freelancing and provide for my family once more.
